Amazon’s newest device is offered in two distinctively different variants: Regular and Signature. It sports a larger 6.8-inch glare-free 300 ppi E-ink display, adjustable warm light, USB-C ports for faster charging, and up to 10 weeks of battery life.

The biggest question is: will the 6.8-inch Paperwhite be discounted for Black Friday 2021 at all? Unfortunately, we expect only minor offers. If you see a two-digit price cut, it would be only for the Signature variant. However, you should see surprisingly attractive Black Friday 2021 deals on Kindle Paperwhite 6.8 bundles.

The 10th-generation Kindle was introduced in April 2019, so it’s not a new model. No upgrade to this model is expected this year, so if you want to buy the most affordable Kindle e-reader, it should be this one.

At the time of writing this overview, the entry-level Kindle is out of stock in the US Amazon store. However, as it happened a few time before, the Kindle was back in stock before Black Friday.

The table below presents former deal prices of the basic Kindle for both Black Friday and Prime Day to help you get a bigger picture.

As you see, the deals are pretty stable. You could save between $30 and $35, no matter the generation and list price.

The basic Kindle was available for $54.99 during Prime Day 2021. Will it be offered for the same price this Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

I expect its price to gown down even more. I would not be surprised to see the Black Friday 2021 price of the basic Kindle to be set at $49.99.

It will be hard for Amazon to draw attention to other models. The only way to lure customers to buy the non-Paperwhite Kindle would be a price that’s reduced more than before.

What Kindle Paperwhite 6.8 deal will we see on Black Friday 2021?

Don’t expect usual Kindle price cuts reaching 40%. The 6.8-inch Paperwhite is just too fresh for it, and there is already a huge demand for the new model. Why cut the price, then?

During Black Friday 2018, Kindle Paperwhite 4 (which had been released just a few weeks earlier) was not discounted by even a penny. There was no price cut on the 4th-generation Paperwhite during Cyber Week either. The first deals were seen just before Christmas 2018.

Our prediction is that there will be no price cut on Kindle Paperwhite Regular version during Black Friday 2021. However, we may see minor discounts on the Signature Edition. Plus, it’s possible that the Kindle Unlimited free plan (3 or 6-month) will be added just for Black Friday. So far, the new Paperwhite is the only model that doesn’t come with a free Kindle Unlimited plan option.

How to save on Kindle Paperwhite 6.8?

Even if there are no considerable price cuts on the device itself, you still may save, if you buy Kindle Paperwhite 6.8 Kids Edition.

The bundle includes the Kindle Paperwhite Regular, 2-year worry-free guarantee, 1 year of Amazon Kids+ subscription, and a kid-friendly cover (one of the color versions is actually black).

The regular price of Kindle Paperwhite Kids is $159.99, which is only $20 more than the regular variant. Amazon claims the total value of all elements bought separately is up to $269, so your saving is over $100.

Additionally, we think Amazon will be more flexible in setting different deal prices for different variants: Regular and Signature. And it’s the latter edition to be offered more often for temporarily lowered prices.

The most advanced Kindle e-reader to date, the 3rd-generation Oasis, was launched in summer 2019, and was the first Amazon e-reader to offer adjustable warm light.

Now, also the 2021 Kindle Paperwhite sport the same feature. Plus, the new Paperwhite comes with a 6.8-inch display, while the Oasis sports a 7-inch one.

The asymmetric design of Kindle Oasis 3 is what makes it a truly unique device. The gravity point was moved to the side, by placing an internal battery and most other components in the grip area. Thanks to that, your hand won’t hurt even if you keep the device in the same position for long hours.

Since 2020, the price of the Oasis was considerably cut for both Prime Day and Black Friday. The discount was $75, so you could get this 7-inch device for only $175.
