Explore the world with these prize winners and international bestsellers translated to English and offered for free by Amazon Crossing.

Just like in previous years, among many activities prepared for World Book Day, Amazon has revealed Read the World – a list of interesting books in translation that are available as free downloads for Kindle e-readers and apps.

There are nine books on the list. They were written by celebrated authors from Japan, Germany, Norway, Spain, Mexico, Netherlands, Israel, Sweden, and Argentina.

All the books are worth reading, but The Hangman’s Daughter by Oliver Pötzsch is the one you should download in an instant. It’s not only an international bestseller. This is Kindle in Motion edition – an animated beauty you will fully admire on your Kindle app for Android or iPad.

There is no need to hurry. Read the World books will remain free through April 24, 2019. It’s still six days to download them. During weekend we can expect usual World Book Day deals on all things Kindle – and it’s when I’m going to grab all what’s available.

Read the World is curated by AmazonCrossing, an Amazon imprint focused on bringing readers from around the world together through literature in translation.

So far, AmazonCrossing has translated over 400 books, compared to 350 last year. Books represent all major categories, from literary fiction, to romance, to teen fiction, to memoirs, to business books.

It’s time to celebrate World Book Day 2019 with Read the World! Which book are you going to read first?
